Klaas Wiggers leads and coordinates the hashtag initiative #I_make_AI. He teaches mathematics, history and AI at the “Gymnasium an der Willmsstraße” (Lower Saxony, Germany) and is a member of the school administration there. He is the author of school books and a consultant for digital learning media. Klaas Wiggers leads a nationwide network of MINT schools. He supported “Fraunhofer IAIS” in developing the “AI4Schools” concept (under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Education Bettina Stark-Watzinger).

Monica Mesaros is 18 years old and was born in Setubal, Portugal. Her parents are originally from Romania. She is multilingual, speaking German, English, Romanian, Hungarian, a bit of Spanish, and some basic French. Monica is a student at the “Gymnasium an der Willmsstraße” and has participated in several AI projects, which have significantly broadened her knowledge of AI.
What fascinates her most about artificial intelligence is its potential to save lives and how it can be utilized to make everyday life easier for people. Monica is particularly interested in exploring the ways AI can be integrated into healthcare and emergency response  systems to improve outcomes and efficiency. Recently, she gave a presentation on the use of AI in MRI technology, which has further fueled her passion for this field.

Şeniz is an 18-year-old from Delmenhorst. She has a passion for artificial intelligence, driven by its incredible potential to revolutionize education and bridge gaps in inequality and opportunity. Her interests lie in exploring innovative AI solutions that can provide equal access to educational resources and opportunities for everyone, regardless of their background.

Niels is a 19-year-old from Stuhr, Germany. As a student at the „Gymnasium an der Willmsstraße“, his interest for artificial intelligence is driven by more than just the incentive to use it for homework. AI is an evolving technology which holds power of an unknown extend. Due to its early stage of development, one can only assume its impact in the years to come. However, this creates the opportunity to work together on the technology of the future. AI can be a catalyst for unity and international cooperation in a time of division and global conflicts. Hence, Niels stands with the #I_make_AI initiative and its mission to demystify this promising technology. Together we can make the field of AI transparent and accessible in order to work towards a bright future.

Kenan is 18 years old and from Lemwerder (Lower Saxony, Germany). He is currently a student at the “Gymnasium an der Willmsstraße” and has developed a strong interest in artificial intelligence, because it will undoubtedly shape the future. From his point of view, AI offers many useful applications, but of course there are also risks and dangers. Therefore, Kenan thinks that it’s very important to be informed about AI, so that it‘s possible to contribute to the development of AI. Furthermore, he is particularly interested in the use of AI in security, such as facial recognition technologies to prevent crime. However, he also takes the ethical aspects into consideration.

Kilian Wessels is a former student of Willms Gymnasium Delmenhorst and a past member of its student company VaD, where the team produced professional-grade videos and live streams. This venture sparked his interest in leveraging technology for creative solutions.
During his school years, Kilian’s relationship with technology, particularly AI, evolved significantly. He had the opportunity to participate in projects with Fraunhofer IAIS, where he explored the practical applications of artificial intelligence.
Today, AI is pivotal in Kilian’s professional life, driving his work in IT and social media marketing. He utilizes AI tools and techniques to optimize workflows, analyze data, and enhance digital marketing strategies, continually pushing the boundaries of what technology can achieve.
As part of the #I_make_AI initiative, Kilian aims to share his journey and those of others, inspiring exploration of the endless possibilities that AI offers by uniting his diverse interests.

Gabriel Zaiton is a 17-year-old student from Delmenhorst, currently attending the „Gymnasium an der Willmsstraße“. With his Aramean heritage, he sees technology – especially artificial intelligence – as a powerful tool for shaping the future by preserving the past, learning from it. As a passionate athlete, he recognizes the parallels between sports and AI – both require strategy, precision, and continuous improvement. He is particularly interested in how AI can enhance athletic performance, injury prevention, and mental training, pushing human potential to new heights. Beyond sports , Gabriel is passionate about AI. He is eager to explore its rapidly evolving technology and the vast opportunities it has to offer. Gabriel firmly believes that AI, when used responsibly, has the power to transform the future for the better.

However, he also recognizes the importance of understanding its risks before unlocking its full potential.

As a supporter of the #I_make_AI initiative, he is committed to making AI accessible to the world and ensuring its responsible use.

Alica Böttjer is a 17-year-old student from Delmenhorst who currently attends the Gymnasium an der Willmsstraße. With a strong interest in politics and social issues, she sees artificial intelligence as a transformative force that can shape societies, challenge existing structures and redefine the way we deal with democracy and human rights. She is particularly fascinated by the ethical implications of Al, its role in politics and how it can both support and disrupt movements for social justice.

In addition to her curiosity about the technological aspects of Al, Alica is also very interested in the social impact of Al. She has already researched how Al is changing journalism, recognising both its potential to improve reporting and its growing risks in spreading misinformation.

Alica firmly believes that Al, when used responsibly, can improve the transparency and accessibility of media. However, she also recognises that regulations and ethical frameworks are needed to prevent abuse, ensure accountability and ensure that information is more influential than ever.

As an advocate of the #_make_Al initiative, Alica is dedicated to increasing Al literacy and encouraging thoughtful discussions about its societal effects. She believes that the future of Al is shaped not only by technological progress but also by those who ensure it is developed and applied for the benefit of all.

Matthias Barth was born in Bremen and pursued his studies at the University of Oldenburg. His professional journey has taken him to various cities, including Hannover, Istanbul, Buenos Aires, and Delmenhorst. He is a teacher specializing in German and History.

In addition to his teaching roles, he harnesses the power of AI for various tasks such as crafting texts like this one, refining content for his students, and sharing knowledge effectively. He is passionate about leveraging technology to enhance the educational experience and make learning more accessible and engaging.

He also produces films and guides students on their journey to becoming filmmakers.

Anke Schaffrinna is a graduate physicist and a teacher at Franziskusgymnasium Lingen. There she teaches mathematics, physics, computer science and sometimes philosophy in a working group. For one year now, she has also been the STEAM coordinator and the chairwoman of computer science at her school. She ist part of a nationwide network of STEAM teachers, that deals with AI at school.
